Phool Makhana/ Roasted Makhana (Puffed fox nuts and Lotus seeds)


 First time when I saw this makhana packet in my home it was labeled with makhana and it did not make any sense to me. Then I search about it on internet and I realize that this is much famous in India such as Punjab, Jammu Kashmir and in other parts of India. Makhana are actually white seeds from Eastern Asia, this is not only found in India, it also found in Korea and japan. Scientifically it is called Euryale ferox nuts.

 In India there are two very famous preparation with this are called sweet rice pudding and roasted makhana. Roasted makhana take very less time to prepare and once it prepare you can store it to be eat anytime. It stay fresh for couple of weeks. It is kind of snacks.
