Indian Food & Technology

Indian food normally takes hours to cook. In today’s world technology have changed that and nowadays it is not that big of a deal to cook. Back in the days, it took over 30 minuets just to cook simple rice only. Rice cooker being available in the market makes it so easy to cook rice; it just takes 10 minutes. I can use microwave or an oven to boil potatoes etc. and when my mother was my age, they had to boil potatoes and it took forever. Now I can just set a timer and do whatever I want.

Technology saves us time but it also saves manpower. It takes over 3 hours to cook sarson-saag (mustard spinach) but use of slow cookers has solved that problem for us. Person can just simply put ingredients in the cooker and let it look for hours; you don’t have to be there to keep the watch as it is timed automatically.
