Gol Gappa or Pani
Puri was originated in Uttar Pradesh and slowly it became the most popular
street food in the country. It has several different names within the country;
it is called “Padakhe” in northern parts of the country, “Puchka” on the southeast
side and Pani Puri in the rest of
India. Back in time, Pani Puri was only available on the (Pani Puri) streets but
nowadays it is available in grocery stores. Most people find Pani Puri recipes and make gol gappe at
their by themselves so they can add up the ingredients they like.
Pani Puri is
served with crispy balls made of flour filled with seasoned potatoes and peas
and dipped in green spicy sauce and sweet & sour chutney. It is believed
that Pani puri sold on streets is
unhealthy as server uses dirty hands and unsanitary utensils. My Parents tried
to stop me from eating streets but it tastes so good that I couldn’t resist
tasting it even though we know it is bad for us.
If you have
something you want to share, I will be more than happy to learn from your
experience.
